With the opening of the new Outdoor Fitness Zone in March 2015, John Prince Park in Lake Worth has added another way for the public to get fit having access to exercise equipment and it’s all free. No gym membership required here. Just bring a water bottle and a towel and you’re ready to go. Located next to the starting point of the 1.1-mile exercise course with plenty of parking, this Fitness Zone is well designed and all the exercise equipment is available to people 14 years and older.
The area is covered which is almost a necessity here in Florida and you can choose from 17 pieces of resistance exercise equipment. Each one is clearly marked with its own instructions and most are wheelchair accessible. From basic stretching to strength training and cardiovascular exercises, all can be done here. You can spend from 10 minutes to a whole hour in this Fitness Zone, it’s all up to you. Choose from parallel bars, chess press, lat pull down, elliptical machines, leg press, pull up bars, self weighted rower, ski walker and many others, with several which can be used by 2 persons at a time.
All the exercise equipment are kept in really good condition and the area is clean and well maintained. This Outdoor Fitness Zone is popular and a great place to workout with friends and family. For those who are just starting out on an exercise regimen, start slowly and perhaps watch those more experienced to see how they use the exercise equipment. This is also a good place to make new friends. So if you are in the area, stop by and check it out.
